Corrosion Control

Harbour Oil and Gas > Corrosion Control

Due to ageing and environmental factors, pipework which is the main conduit transporting petroleum fluid is liable to suffer corrosion causing mechanical damaged to the piping system.

This has been a key challenge that asset owners and operators face for if left un-managed will lead to crack and possible spill causing the asset owners a huge sum of money in shutting down operations.  In some cases, this has lead to spillages which is very expensive to carry out curtailment and remedial work to restore the affected environment. This in turn affects the relationship with host communities.

This is done by using composites applicators to coat the out layer of the piping system and piping components.

To avoid the above scenario, our Mechanical Department provides exceptional service to forestall the integrity of a piping system slowing down its degradation.  This is done by using composites applicators to coat the out layer of the piping system and piping components.  The procedure eliminates hot work and shutdowns, improve safety and protect assets against corrosion for the long term.

In the times past, we have been working closely with DENSO®, using their cold-curing wrapping systems to wrap pipelines, piping components such as fittings, valves and flange connections to prevent corrosion of pipework.

This Composite application is a durable and affordable solution used by renowned assets owners saving them lots of operational time and money.
